I have mx2 files from an older version of MasterCook. Can the latest version of MasterCook use these files?
Yes, MasterCook 24, the latest version of MasterCook, can open those files. After you purchase and install MasterCook 24 onto your computer, then from Windows, double click on an MX2 file to import the contents into a cookbook in MasterCook.
MX2 files are text only. They contain no photos. The MX2 file is created when you remove recipes from the program. For these reasons, it is better to make backup copies of your cookbook files instead as explained here:

Then you can add those cookbook files to MasterCook 24 as explained here:
