When I try to insert a picture into MasterCook 15, I get a message that MasterCook has stopped working, and it closes the program.

You need to download and install the update and possibly delete an old DLL file as explained here: MasterCook 15 Update & DLL Files

You may also need to restart your computer afterwards.
