My MasterCook Manager Not Working/Included Cookbooks Don't Show

I installed MasterCook 15 and/or an update. The My MasterCook Manager is not working correctly. Additionally, when I go to the Cookbooks screen I don't see the included cookbooks in that screen. I only see My Cookbook.

Please open this folder on your computer: C:\ProgramData\MasterCook 15

Open the C drive. Open the ProgramData folder. (If you don't see this folder it's because Windows is hiding it from you. See here: Showing Hidden Files in Windows 8 & 10.) Open the MasterCook 15 folder.

Find the MyMasterCookErrors.txt file and open it with Notepad.

Look to see if somewhere you see this line of text:

Exception Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {FC1BE962-3922-4FDA-930A-BD466FBCD78B} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

If you see "Class not registered" that means you have an incomplete installation.

Something on your computer prevented the program from finishing its installation, and it was prevented from registering a necessary DLL file that's on your computer that is required for My MasterCook Manager to fully function. You MUST follow the TROUBLESHOOTING section at the end of this article below.

It's likely you are also suffering from this problem: Included Cookbooks Don't Show in the Program

Hopefully that's the extent of the damage.

Otherwise, if you have any additional odd problems that others don't have, you will have to reinstall exactly as explained here: Reinstall MasterCook 15

If My MasterCook Manager is not behaving as expected, such as you have problems even closing it or using any part of it, please follow these instructions to fix it:

Please restart your computer. Then:

1) Press and hold the Windows logo key on your keyboard and press the letter X.

This brings up a menu where you can select to run Command Prompt (Admin) or Windows PowerShell (Admin). Make sure you run it as Admin or the next step won't work and will give an error instead.

2) Copy this line text:

regsvr32 "c:\program files (x86)\MasterCook 15\Program\rtcwrap.dll"

3) At the command prompt, right click where the cursor is and select Paste to copy that line above in there. Make sure there are no spaces at the beginning or end of that line above. Then press the Enter key on your keyboard.

You should get a message stating it was successful:
